Lindsey is a native of Winston-Salem. She graduated from Mount Tabor High School and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After college, Lindsey returned to Winston-Salem to work in development for Reynolda House Museum of American Art. While living in Winston-Salem, she met her husband Paul, a High Point native and Duke graduate. They spent the first six years of their marriage abroad in Hong Kong, where she pursued a career in art and fashion. Lindsey worked for Salvatore Ferragamo in marketing and merchandising. She also organized fundraising galas for international nonprofits active in Southeast Asia. After the birth of their daughter, Catherine (7), they spent a year living in New York before settling back in Winston-Salem and welcoming their son George (5).

In October 2020, Lindsey developed what she thought was an exercise injury. Unfortunately, after months of unsuccessful physical therapy and a number of invasive tests, Lindsey was officially diagnosed with ALS in May 2021. Disease progression has been rapid and Lindsey’s life is changing swiftly.

Last fall, a small group of local women established a 501(c)(3), the Lindsey Miller Charitable Foundation, to increase awareness, support research, and provide resources to individuals living with ALS. The foundation’s first event, the inaugural Christmas Stroll, was held Saturday, December 10th, 2022 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM on the 400 block of Oaklawn Avenue in Buena Vista. The festive home tour included yummy nibbles and drinks, a silent auction featuring art and home decor, live music, and four of the homes were open for touring. The idea for the Christmas Stroll was inspired by Lindsey’s love of art and interior design.
